Walmart is the common theme among one stop shopping concepts. Getting things quickly with little trouble from Walmart will soon increase to consist of one more item. Pronto Wine Kiosks might start popping up at Walmart stores. If all goes as planned, they will start a trial experiment in Pennsylvania and make an effort to branch out from there.
Not a new thing with wine kiosks
The Liquor Control Board controls the wine kiosks in Pennsylvania, and started them last year as an attempt to ‘modernize’ post-prohibition alcohol sales. Wine kiosks are really nothing new, they just do not show up on every corner like a Walmart does. They are like vending machines in the self-serve operation. There are 55 local stores, and 2 dozen more coming soon in Pennsylvania that has the kiosk. The idea was approved by Pennsylvania. Still, it may be months considering the contracts need to be worked out nevertheless. Walmart won’t have to do anything however let companies advertise after kiosks are installed.
Kiosk does close
This sounds like an incredible option for every minor and every slobbering drunk out there to buy their alcohol where other generally refuses them, right? It is harder than that. It doesn’t work that way. The kiosk offers around 500 bottles of wine in 45 different flavors. Sundays, the machines are closed. Everyone who wants to purchase from them can have to swipe their driver’s license with their credit or debit card. You verify your age and then take a breathalyzer test. This is to make sure you haven’t already been drinking. You have to meet all the requirements to buy the wine. If you don’t, you can no longer buy the alcohol.
