From the days of my youth I was a big kid. I was never involved in sports very much growing up. My favorite place in the house was in front of the television with a bowl of ice cream. There was no trouble determining the reasons why I was so fat. I ate the wrong foods and never moved around much.
As I got older, things did not get any better. I became more than just the at kid, I was struggling with obesity. Regular furniture was not well designed for me. It was embarrassing that my belly barely fit under the steering wheel. My lifestyle caused me to be obese, but I did not try to change it.
Eventually I realized that my life as I was living it had to change. Being obese was stopping me from living. I had no social life, but most importantly my weight kept me from finding someone special to share my life with so I decided to do something about it and to do it in a hurry, so I ordered one of those programs that promised to show me how to lose weight fast and vowed that doing this simple step would cure all that was ailing me in a hurry.
Unfortunately the fad diet was not the answer for me. It failed miserable and I ended up bigger than when I started. I was also very discouraged, but I knew I had to try something to find out lose weight fast or at least something that would get me headed in the right direction if I was ever going to find happiness in my life and if I was going to keep myself from dying at too young of an age.
There were plenty of ways for me too find a healthy diet that would help me lose weight. There was plenty of information available to let me know what was healthy and what was not. It did not take long for me to develop a plan for my eating. I paid attention to my total caloric intake. I had plenty of research that gave all the data about food that I needed. Somewhere through the process, I discovered what it was going to take to drop the pounds off my body. To lose weight a person must expend more calories than they take in. That required me to do some type of work out. The biggest obstacle I faced in this task was the fat that was all over my body.
The fat on my body was definitely a roadblock to following a normal fitness regimen that most people could do. It seemed like any type of exercise was going to be too difficult for me to do. I also knew that I could not lose weight through diet alone and had to work out in some way. I knew that I had to find some way to exercise. It was possible for me to work out.
The simplest thing for me to do was to start by going for a walk every day. It did not seem like much at first, but it was difficult. As time went by I was able to lengthen the distance and time that I spent walking. Another improvement I made was the pace at which I went out at. I could see some results on the scale. At some point I was able to start jogging. My body continued to get smaller. Everything I was doing was having an effect.
I recently celebrated a milestone by joining a road race for charity. I did not win, but I finished. It was hard to believe that I was able to accomplish this when twelve months before, it was hard for me to push myself away from the table.
