Focusing on cardio when you workout is a great way to burn plenty of fat while boosting your endurance levels. Something very few people know however is how inefficient traditional cardio is. This cardio routine actually works a lot better than those other routines. The cardio routines you will learn here is far more efficient and will provide better results in less time.
The routine I am going to talk about is called High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT for short. Just twenty minutes of HIIT produces much better results than 60 minutes of conventional cardio. HIIT really increases your HGH output, which makes it far more effective at burning fat reserves.
Your muscles consist of 3 different fibers:
The First is the Slow Twitch
The Second is the Fast Twitch
The Third is the Super Fast Twitch
You should focus on your super fast twitch muscles if you want to boost the creation of fat burning hormones (HGH). When you undergo HIIT you take advantage of your super fast twitch muscles and therefor your body creates greater levels of these hormones. HIIT can work with almost any cardio you can think of, however when you first start the best cardio routines to partake in is with a recumbent bike.
This is how you undergo HIIT:
Star off with a warm up for around 4 minute, move at around a speedy walking speed.
After you have warmed up speed up to a quick jog for half a minute.
After 30 seconds push yourself as fast as you can go for 15 seconds.
After this 15 minutes go back to rest mode and move at a fast walk again. Steps 2 through 4 make up 1 interval. Do this seven times after that, eight in total. Don’t do this more than twice a week, to avoid overtraining yourself. I like to do my HIIT on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many people will ignore this method because it seems so vastly different from the traditional “run for an hour a day”, however it is far more effective.
These are the benefits you gain from HIIT over traditional cardio workouts:
When you stop traditional cardio your body will stop burning calories, so if you run for an hour you will only burn calories for an hour. With HIIT, your body will continue to burn excess calories for the next hours. You build more endurance FASTER with HIIT.
With the increased fat burning hormones you will burn fat quickly but also slow the aging process. The ratio speaks for itself, the results you get from an hour of traditional cardio routines can be mirrored with just 20 minutes of high intensity interval training. Think of it like this, you save yourself 40 minutes of your time! Have you ever watched the Olympics and wondered how all the sprinters have such amazing abs? You may assume it is thanks to endless sit ups and crunches, however this isn’t the case, it is all down to their continual sprinting. HIIT reduces hunger. You can lose more weight if you take in fewer calories. Try to do this thing before anything else in the day. Your body will burn way more fat this way. The reason for this is because later during the day, the foods you eat will be stored by the muscles as glucose. Glucose is fundamentally petrol for your muscles.
However when you just wake up you haven’t eaten for a number of hours, upwards of 8. Doing cardio at this time will cause your body to burn the stored up fat as energy instead.
