Are you searching for ways to tighten up your abs? There are some who complain that they labored for too long yet still do not have the abs that they want. What do you think is the reason for this? We say, they are not doing the proper exercises that concentrate on working out the abs intensely. Anyway, here are some of the best exercises that will shape your abdominal muscles into perfectly formed six-packs.

The first exercise you can do at home is crunching. It is recommended for people who are just starting to work out their abs. Abs crunches can be done at home or at the gym. When you do a couple of sets of crunches every day, you will notice that your upper abs are developed first. The recommended repetitions per set in doing abs crunches is 10 – 20 reps. You can do 2 – 3 sets early in the morning, after you work, or before going to bed. On the first week, however, do not overdo this exercise so you won’t experience muscle pain frequently.

After your regular crunches, proceed to doing reverse crunches. However, it may be more difficult than the usual crunches that you do. It’s emphasis is different from the regular abs crunches also. Reverse crunches work out the lower abdominal muscles. Therefore, this exercise should be paired with your regular crunches. To do this, lie on your back and put your arms flat on the floor for support. Slowly raise your legs while bringing your knees close to your chest. Gently bring it to the starting position.

Finally, continue to doing the last routine which is the bicycle crunches. This exercise is considered as one of the most effective abs exercises. This exercise can guarantee to put a perfectly developed six-pack on your abdomen if you do this regularly. To do the bicycle crunch, lie on your back with your arms behind the head and slightly elevate your head without straining your neck. Then, raise both legs and alternately kick them into the air as if you are riding a bicycle. Do as many as 20 – 25 repetitions of this procedure per day.

These exercises need you to have dedication and patience so that you can appreciate the changes that they will bring to your abs. Abs are not made over-night. You would have to labor for several weeks or months before you can actually see those six-packs on yourself. There are also other abs exercises that you can do at home but you may need some equipment before you can do them. However, if you are looking for home abs exercises, these three are definitely good for you.
